Did you know that we consume more content in 15 minutes than our great-grandparents did in one month? How crazy is that? In just 15 minutes, our minds and hearts have been consumed with “stuff.”

The first thing many of us do when we wake up before we can even take our first step is to check social media to find out the stories/news of the day. In this day and age, we are consumed with so many things that sometimes our relationship with God is strained or even non-existent.

We have so many distractions and temptations, but that is still no excuse. God deserves the first fruits of our day. We should always prioritize Him in our lives. It is so easy to get “caught up” in what is going on around you, that you lose focus of what is so important: God.

Seasons of Life:

No matter where we are in life, no matter what season we are in, we have to make sure that our relationship with God is solid.

Honestly, spending time with God is the most important thing we can do because when we have that quiet time; we’re spending time with the Master of the universe, the Author and Finisher of our faith, our Father, the God who made us.

He knows our ins and outs, He knows our destiny. He predestined every day of our life and He knows how it began and how it will end.

I noticed that when I spend time with God before my day, things tend to fall in place. When I start my day off right with prayer, reading the word of God, and worshipping Him; I start with a good attitude and outlook.

I have the chance to speak to my Creator and He speaks to me. I ground myself in the Word of God so that before I face anything in the day, I already have my heart and my mind set right. That doesn’t mean the trials and tribulations will not come, but what happens is when we prioritize our time with God, we ask Him to come in and take control, and then we can rest assured knowing that God is taking care of everything that concerns us.

I saw a quote the other day that says:

“Those who put everything in God’s hands eventually see God’s hands on everything.”

When you prioritize God in your life, God will put His hand in everything that concerns you. You need not worry (Matthew 6:25-34).

Matthew 6:33 says:

But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

The Word of God tells us that when you seek Him first and His righteousness then all these things will be added unto us. Those things can be anything that you need and/or desire. When we put God first and prioritize Him in our lives, then any and everything we need will be “added” unto us!

Everything we could ever want or need is in Him. We’ve got to do our best because heaven is at stake, our life is at stake, our future is at stake. Heaven is the goal, eternity in heaven with God.

I want to share 3 tips that will help you in your relationship with God; whether you are a relationship veteran or you just got saved.

Tip 1: Listen to the Audio Bible

You will be so surprised how much you can learn by listening to the Bible on audio. Fortunately, there are so many apps/programs to choose from. You can even listen to it on YouTube…whatever works for you. Listening to the Bible on audio is a powerful tool, it can reinforce what you know and I am sure that you will learn some new scriptures as well.

Tip 2: Spend time with God as a part of your Daily Routine

Include spending time with God as a part of your daily routine. For example, maybe every morning you have to drive 20 minutes to drop the kids off at school or maybe you have a 30-minute commute to your job or business office; that is the perfect time to spend with God. You can listen to the audio Bible, pray, worship God, whatever you want to do.

Tip 3: Set an Alarm

You can set your alarm a little earlier than you normally wake up and use that time to spend with God. Instead of waking up at 6:30 am, set your alarm so you can wake up earlier (like 6:00 am) and use that extra time and spend it with the Lord. Perhaps, you have a 30, 45 minute, or hour lunch break, use that time to seek Jesus.

You can go to bed a little later than you normally do or prepare for bed a little earlier so you have maybe 15 to 30 minutes of free time to get into God’s presence.

Make every day a day to prioritize spending time with God. I know life gets busy, I know times get hard, but we don’t have any excuses. One thing we have to remember is that the devil doesn’t want us to grow in our relationship with God. He doesn’t want us to pray, read our Bible, and seek God’s face. Because he knows that when we do, we grow in God, we understand God more, and become stronger Christians.

Brothers and Sisters, be encouraged!

Let’s talk about it! How are you finding ways to spend time with God in your busy seasons?

Love, Grace
